The Vendor Orientation Guide is intended to provide you with a base package of information to give to new vendors at your farmers’ market. It is designed to help you introduce new vendors to market selling by giving them great start-up information. The Vendor Orientation Guide contains information that vendors need but often struggle to hear from their Market Manager.
Many farmers’ markets provide a customized Vendor Handbook to new and existing vendors as a means of providing key information about their market, and about selling at their market, in an organized way. Our Vendor Orientation Guide is not meant to replace a market’s own handbook – rather it is a perfect accompaniment.
Together, we’ll get your new vendors off to a great start!
*If you do not currently have a Vendor Handbook, or are missing recommended pieces from the list below, we encourage you to purchase our Vendor Management Handbook. The Vendor Management Handbook covers each of these areas in detail as well as addressing common questions and concerns around working with vendors from recruitment best practices and finding new vendors, to tips on welcoming and retaining vendors at your farmers’ market. The Vendor Management Handbook is available for purchase, here.
