Wolfville Farmers’ Market is one of a handful of fantastic year-round farmers’ markets here in Nova Scotia. Even in the dead of winter, vendors carry a huge variety of healthy, delicious, local crops, including kale, sprouts, carrots, potatoes, onions, leeks, squash, celeriac, beets, kohlrabi, parsnips, cabbage, sweet potatoes and now spinach.
And it’s not just the veggies that keep shoppers coming back. Meat, dairy, bread, baked goods, artisan products, health products, and a wonderful community vibe with live music have made this a popular stop for locals and visitors.
This month the market will celebrate all things maple with their Maplicious event on March 19th. More than 30 vendors will offer maple based products, from maple tarts to maple cutting boards!
The Wolfville Farmers’ Market is currently open every Saturday from 8:30 am – 1 pm. On May 18th, it resumes its summer schedule, with the return on their Wednesday market hours and market supper from 4 pm – 7 pm.
Planning a visit? Get a weekly list of what you’ll find at the market by subscribing to their eNewsletter HERE. You’ll also learn about upcoming events, performers and vendor news, stay in touch with what’s happening in the local food movement, and discover tips and recipes that incorporate whole food cooking skills.
