Farmers’ Market Week is a grassroots celebration of farmers’ markets across Nova Scotia. Look forward to a week of special events, giveaways, promotions, and more!

Summer Events

Avon Community Farmers’ Market

  • Eco Day June 28th, 10am-1pm, Come and Learn about conservation, efficiency and nature!
  • July Jam July 19th, 10am-1pm- Come belt out a tune with us for market Karaoke!
  • Dog Days of Summer August 16th 10am-1pm, Get your Doggos’ portrait taken and enter the doggie costume contest for an amazing gift basket! 

 

Barrington Farmers’ Market 

  • Family Day July 25th, 9am-12pm, we will be celebrating the FMNS with a Family Day, Duo and Friends, reptile show, and face painting.

 

Digby Farmers’ and Artisans’ Market

  • Pop-Up and Play, Friday, June 26, July 17 & August 14, 10am-3pm, Join Digby Area Recreation for a family friendly community event. 

 

East Hants Farmers’ Market

  • East Hants Farmers’ Market and Tide Fest Market, July 25 and 26, 10am–2pm at the East Hants Sportsplex

 

Fairview Farmers’ Market

  • Free BBQ with MLA Lina Hamid, July 16th, 4–7pm. Join family and friends at the market and enjoy a free bbq treat while you shop.
  • Christmas in July, July 23th, 4–7pm. Enjoy festive treats and early holiday cheer.
  • Doggie Days of Summer, July 30th, 4–7pm. Pet-friendly summer event celebrating dogs and their owners. 
  • Family Day, August 13th ,4–7pm. A market day packed with activities for all ages.  August 27th – End of Summer: Celebrate summer’s end with great food and fun. 

 

Greater Bedford Farm & Craft Market

  • Farmers Market Nova Scotia Week/Pride Week, Wednesday July 22, 4–7PM. Show your support for local small businesses and shop at the market this week. You’re also encouraged to dress up in colour to support Pride Week in Halifax.
  • Christmas in July, Wednesday July 29, 4–7 PM. Get a head start on your holiday preparations and visit the market for Christmas in July! There will be lots of cool finds and special deals that can’t be found again until winter!
  • Back To School Week, Wednesday September 2, 4–7 PM. Getting ready to head back to school? Come visit the market for last minute finds and goodies (and spend your $10 NS Loyal voucher!).

 

Halifax Seaport Farmers’ Market 

  • Farmer’s Market Week Giveaway and Colouring Contest, July 25 & 26, 8am–2pm/10am–2pm, Celebrate Farmers’ Market Week at the Seaport! Shop local, enter our social media giveaway, and bring your kids to participate in our colouring contest. 

 

Kingston Farmers’ Market

  • Steer BBQ Week, July 9th, 3–7pm. This is a Kingston-wide event that begins with the KFM on Thursday, and ends with the Running of the Steers (5km race that is a fundraiser for our Market!) on Sunday July 12th.
  • Pet week, July 23rd, 3–7pm. This is an amazing week to drop by with a furry friend! Our pet-friendly vendors will be putting on a workshop; and there may be a costume competition running on socials. Stay tuned for one of the cutest weeks at the KFM!
  • Corn week, August 20th, 3–7pm. This week is all about corn! We prepare a corn boil; host a corn-shucking contest (kids and adults); all the vendors sport corn-themed goodies; plus our regular food trucks, live music, games and fun – corn themed!
  • Stone Soup, KFM finale! September 17th, 3–7pm. This is the last week of our market, culminating with our stone soup reading, and making of stone soup. This is an interactive market full of celebration. We release paper lanterns, fill a wish tree, make/serve/eat stone soup, and close it out with a massive balloon party on the north lawn. A truly magical finale, not to be missed!

 

Musquodoboit Harbour Farmers’ Market

  • Fair Week, Sunday July 12, 10am–2pm, Bringing the community together and make the Eastern Shore Summer Fair something special
  • Night Market, Friday July 24, 4–8pm, Join us for or annual summer night market and a BBQ to support Eastern Shore Pride
  • The Market is 19, Sunday July 26, 10am–2pm, Join us for our birthday market. To show our appreciation we are having a free BBQ for all our customers and vendors
  • Night Market, Friday August 14, 4–8pm, Our second night market of the season. Join us for a BBQ in support of our Nourishing Communities and stay after the market for an outdoor family movie night
  • Pride Market, Sunday August 16, 10am–2pm, Join us for our annual Pride market in support of Eastern Shore Pride.

 

New Glasgow Farmers’ Market

  • Farmers Market Week at the NGFM July 25, 2026 9am–1pm. Join us as we celebrate Farmers’ Market Week at the New Glasgow Farmers Market on Saturday, July 25 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Visit with NS Loyal, shop from your favourite local vendors, and enjoy special activities as we celebrate local food, farmers, and community. 

 

North Mountain Market

  • North Mountain Market is throwing a Farmers Market Week party! July 25, 9:30am–1pm.  Come wander, nibble, giggle, and explore with:  A Special Gift Basket Draw stuffed with local goodies  Live demonstrations that might just inspire your next hobby  Farm animals up close — bring your “awww” voice.

  • National Historic Places Days & Youth Art Show & Sale, July 10, 4–7 pm. Celebrate our 159 year old location with a young artists display of Communication Through Place and Time. Live music by Wavey Middleton
  • Best Homemade Cookie Contest (by public taste test vote). Free vendor table for Contest Entrants! July 17, 4–7 pm. Live music by Lucas Greencorn

  • Pickles & Preserves Festival, Sept. 18, 4–7 pm. Vendors celebrate the art of brining and boiling, offering crisp pickles, sweet spreads, and old‑fashioned pantry magic. Best mustard pickle contest. Free vendor table to contest entrants. Live music by Shaun Patrick
  • FMNS Fall Finale & Yard Sale (museum fundraiser), Sept. 25, 4–7 pm. Come fill your bags—and your pantry—with peak‑season produce, cozy treats, and all the fall magic the preserving season can offer. Live music by the locally famous, Uke Can Duet!

 

Portapique Market 

  • Strawberry Festival. July 12, 11:30am–2:30pm. Come celebrate with us and sample strawberry recipes.

Sydney Public Market

  • All July  – Celebrate the new location of the Sydney Public Market at the NSCC Sydney Waterfront Campus! Live music, crafts, cultural performances and your favourite vendors, artisans and farmers!
  • All July – Sydney Public Market with the Multicultural Association of Cape Breton will be giving away vouchers to newcomers and ethnocommunity groups to help promote farmer’s market and create community connection. 
  • Community Resource Fair! August 1st, 10am–2pm. Sydney Public Market will get bigger on August 1st as they welcome community organizations to spotlight the great work that they do!

 

West Dublin Market

Wolfville Farmers’ Market

  • Family Fun Farm Day;  August 1, 2026, 8:30am-1pm; Join us for a Family Farm Funday with our guest co-hosts at 4-H with a petting zoo as well prizes, games and opportunities to learn a bit about farming in the Valley, for the whole family.
  • Health and Wellness Fair; August 15, 2026, 8:30am-1pm; This exciting day will feature a blend of our vendors, non-profits, and local businesses dedicated to promoting health and well-being in our Annapolis Valley. Explore a wide range of health and wellness products, natural remedies, and fitness fun, all aimed at enhancing your overall well-being.  
  • BookFest at the Market; Sept 19, 2026, 8:30am-1pm;; Join us for BookFair at the Wolfville Farmers’ Market on Saturday, September 21st. This pop-up during the bustling Saturday Market will feature our talented local authors, publishers and booksellers and a Book Lovers Raffle Prize. Get to meet local authors while stocking up on your Fall book lists.
  • Deep Roots at the Market; Sept 26, 2026, 8:30am-1pm; Join us for a wonderful free Deep Roots concert at the Market.
