The province is buzzing with the summer spirit of farmers’ markets! There is certainly no shortage of weekly markets to visit for shopping, chatting, and relaxing, but these special summer events might give you an extra reason to soak up some local goodness.

July 14, 2-4pm | Plant Walk: Recalling Our Herbal Wisdom | Rural Roots Market

“Many of us can recall old plant remedies we were taught or heard our elders talking about. Most of us in rural Nova Scotia have eaten wild plants gathered and prepared by our moms or dads. This is where we begin, by recalling and remembering. I invite participants to share with the others any recipes they have for using wild plants.

Together we will make something to eat or drink from one or more of these wonderful wild plants that grow around us. What it will be depends on what is at its best at the time of the workshop. Workshop is free. Please sign up at info@ruralrootsmarket.ca or call 902-599-1207.”
