Flowers

Local flowers are few and far between at this time of year, but skip the roses and give the gift of weeks of local flowers to look forward to! Truro Farmers’ Market vendor Bountiful Brookfield Blooms has opened their floral CSA for the season, and Hubbard’s Farmers’ Market vendor Meguma Meadows still has a few spots available in their 2021 Tulip Share, which includes four weekly instalments of their specialty cut tulips.

Two Birds One Stone Farm Floral CSA serves the Valley with twenty-eight glorious weeks of local, seasonal flowers delivered straight to your door. They also offer weekly, bi-weekly and by month subscriptions available for pickup in HRM, Dartmouth, Windsor, Bedford, Tantallon, Wolfville, Canning, Berwick and Kingston via WFM2Go, the Wolfville Farmers’ Market’s online ordering service.

Plants

If your loved one isn’t a fan of cut flowers, why not give the gift of a plant that will last the year round, like a string of hearts plant or pink succulent from Woodlands & Meadows, or a heart shaped sweetheart hoya plant from Ragged Robin Farm and Nursery. If they have a green thumb, a package of floral seeds from Cochrane Family Farm, vendors at the Musquodoboit Harbour Farmers’ Market and Truro Farmers’ Market, or some veggie seeds from Yonder Hill Farm paired with a bag of Fert N’ Fibre’s quality llama fertilizer Llama Beans (yes, poo) will win the way to their heart.

Body Care

There are so many fun heart themed soaps made by farmers’ market vendors, like goat’s milk soaps by Green Oaks Nubians vendor at Truro Farmers’ Market. Try cocoa butter bath cookies from Osha Mae Soap, vendor at Halifax Seaport Market and Halifax Brewery Market’s Neighbourhood Goods General Store. These little hearts fizz & and melt organic cocoa butter into your warm bath leaving your skin silky smooth & nourished!

Looking to relax? WFM2Go is offering a Relaxation Package, including chocolate, wine, face mask, body oil, and a Beard Box, which includes rummed cider, bakery treats, aftershave and more! Contents will be delivered wrapped in a heart-stamped paper bag, ready to gift!

Charcuterie

There’s nothing more delicious than sharing charcuterie with your loved one this Valentine’s Day. Skip doing dishes and order one of many charcuterie board options from a local farmers’ market. Halifax Brewery Market offers both traditional and vegan options for pre-order and pick up or for delivery.

The Wolfville Farmers’ Market is offering Charcuterie Boxes through their online ordering service, WFM2Go, which can be ordered for delivery to your nearest pick up point, from the Valley to HRM.

Want flowers that will last for years for come? We love these felted merino wool flowers from Felt Like Painting available online from the Antigonish Farmers’ Market.
